We are looking for a Core Systems QA and Operational Support Officer  to join our team on behalf of our major client based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The Core Systems QA and Operational Support Officer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of core banking systems and for utilizing the capabilities of these systems in order to support Business Units’ operational needs. With regards to the Quality Assurance aspect, the role involves executing existing test cases for regression testing of systems and being able to develop and execute new ones to cover change requests delivered by the vendors. With regards to the Operational Support aspect, the role involves being able to design and implement data and parameter changes to both resolve technical problems and satisfy ad-hoc business needs. Both aspects will require close cooperation with internal units and external vendors according to the problem or need at hand.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Test Plan Development: Create and manage detailed test plans and test cases for core banking systems to ensure they meet business and compliance requirements.
  • System Testing: Conduct thorough testing, including functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
  • Issue Identification: Identify, document, and track defects and issues. Collaborate with development teams to resolve them effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and defect logs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to gather input, gain buy-in, and communicate testing progress and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall quality assurance efforts.

Qualifications

  • Education: BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, system testing, operational support or a related field, preferably within the banking sector.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of Relational Database mechanics and SQL will be a major asset
    • Knowledge of MS Excel – familiarity with Excel formulas will be a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in developing and executing test plans and test cases.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with QA methodologies, standards, and tools.
