We are currently looking for a talented Application Engineer/Administrator on behalf of a major European institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Application installation, configuration, and administration in production and non-production environments.
  • Monitoring application performance, tuning systems, and continuously improving service efficiency and quality.
  • Providing application support and maintenance, including incident, change, release, and problem resolution.
  • Writing and validating technical documentation, such as application procedure manuals, troubleshooting guides, and backup/restore plans.
  • Automating administrative procedures for recurring system management activities and providing relevant technical support documentation.
  • Contributing to the structuring, maintenance, and development of the ICT Operations technical knowledge base.
  • Reporting on application availability, performance, capacity, and overall usage.
  • On-call support is required during full calendar weeks.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience (Level 3 – Expert):
  • Either a completed university degree of at least 4 years with 9 years of relevant professional experience,
  • OR a university degree of at least 3 years with 10 years of relevant experience.

Professional Experience:

  • Over 6 years of experience working in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, supporting and maintaining applications.
  • At least 5 years of experience in administration and support of Microsoft Windows Servers or Red-Hat Linux in enterprise environments.
  • 5 years of experience in application administration and support.
  • 4 years of experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Python) and automated deployment and configuration.
  • 2 years of experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet).
  • 4 years of experience managing and migrating Kubernetes clusters.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server (2019+) operating systems and application support.
  • Expertise in containerization and Kubernetes (helm charts, operators, pipelines).
  • Familiarity with configuration management technologies (e.g., Puppet) and DevOps principles.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and release management.

Certifications:

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is required.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is preferred.

Workload & Availability:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (32 hours/week).
  • On-call services are required during full calendar weeks.
  • Potential extension of services for up to 280 additional working days.
