On behalf of our client, a U.S.-based company, we are seeking an AS400 Operator to work night shifts aligned with U.S. business hours (Greek time: 9:00 to 17:00) in a hybrid work model based in Agia Paraskevi, Athens, Greece.

Minimum Requirements:

• College Degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field with 3–5 years of experience, or 5–8 years of relevant hands-on experience in IBM iSeries systems.
• Proficient with iSeries hardware (Power5 to current) and operating systems V7R3, V7R1, V6R1, V5R4.
• Experience with RPG and Control Language (CL) scripting is preferred.
• Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with HelpSystems applications (Robot/Schedule, Robot/Console, Robot/Network, Robot/Alert) is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting third-party applications is beneficial.

Major Responsibilities:

• Administer and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) hardware and software systems daily.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM iSeries systems and networked peripherals.
• Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures for critical functions, including backup and restore, performance tuning, and application configuration.
• Test and implement OS and application software releases, patches, and fixes in both development and production environments.
• Maintain and configure iSeries network connectivity, focusing on TCP/IP and SNA protocols.
• Provide continuous technical support and system monitoring to ensure cost-effective and secure operations.
• Support application development using RPG, CL, and IBM System APIs.
• Identify and recommend changes to existing processes or the development of new ones to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Liaise with external vendors or service providers to improve internal IT processes and procedures.
• Enforce and ensure compliance with security protocols and standards; address vulnerabilities as identified.
• Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests; document resolution processes.
• Draft and maintain technical and operational documentation as required.

Role Expectations:

• Ensure continuous system availability and contribute to infrastructure enhancement efforts.
• Lead or support infrastructure troubleshooting, resolution, and documentation.
• Apply configuration updates to maintain system reliability and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in data protection and IT governance discussions.
