On behalf of a major organization, we are seeking an experienced Chief Technician (Web Hosting).

Responsibilities:

• Administer, manage, and support the infrastructure required for the web hosting platform in both production and non-production environments.
• Configure, install, and reconfigure web hosting platforms and related products to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the relevant Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex problems, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Use platform management tools to monitor system load and performance statistics, generating reports for stakeholders.
• Automate the provisioning, testing, and deployment of new and updated web hosting platforms using scripts and tools.
• Maintain and execute operational procedures in accordance with agreed-upon standards and guidelines.
• Provide reports and proposals for system improvements to specialists, users, and managers.
• Manage or supervise complex installations, upgrades, and de-installations of systems or components, ensuring a smooth handover to clients.
• Develop procedures and standards to improve the installation and handover process while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Technical Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of server operating systems and platforms, including interoperability considerations.
• Compare and evaluate all major server systems and platforms, providing insights into advanced system components, functions, and facilities.
• Analyze the impact of new releases on existing software products and provide guidance for modifying applications within the server environment.
• Expertise in web application support, deployment of security certificates, web security, and authentication mechanisms.
• Strong server administration and troubleshooting experience, with a focus on maintaining secure and resilient systems.

SharePoint Administration:

• Guide best practices for SharePoint technologies and contribute to the design of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Participate in the planning and risk management for SharePoint upgrades and integration with third-party technologies.
• Implement interfaces to other platforms and resolve integration issues with 3rd party add-ons.
• Configure SharePoint topology for shared services and mentor others on key SharePoint Server features.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with at least 4 years of post-related experience, OR
• Secondary education with 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Professional Experience:

• At least 3 years of platform management experience in large organizations.
• Extensive experience in web application support, including the deployment of security certificates and website security measures.
• Relevant experience with SharePoint, Oracle WebLogic, IIS Server, and Apache Tomcat.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of server administration and troubleshooting (Linux/Windows).
• SQL database, network, and business continuity knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications in server administration and web hosting technologies are highly desirable.
• Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
