We are looking for an experienced Satellite Communications Technician on behalf of one of our major clients.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, Setup, Maintenance, and Repair: Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of satellite communication systems at the SGT or SGS site, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.
• Baseband Elements: Handle modems, routers, switches, media converters, matrix switches, line amplifiers, and related devices.
• RF Elements: Manage low and high-power RF systems such as up/down converters, amplifiers, LNAs, RF-over-fiber converters, and other RF components.
• Antenna Systems: Install and maintain antenna elements, including motors, power/servo drives, gearboxes, control systems, and dehydrators.
• Monitoring and Control Systems: Oversee the configuration of workstations, servers, gateways, digital signal processors, network devices, and interface elements for monitoring.
• Software: Install and configure various software systems, including Windows, Linux, and network operating systems. Ensure software updates, patches, and configurations are up to date.
• Power Systems Support: Assist local power technicians in setting up and maintaining power generation, distribution, and HVAC systems.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date as-built documents for installations, updates, and configurations.

Requirements:

1. Shift Flexibility: Ability to work 24/7 shifts.
2. Security Clearance: Must have NATO-SECRET classification.
3. Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (B2 level); local language fluency is also required.
4. Education & Experience:
   • High school diploma or degree in electronics or a related network/communication field.
   • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years as a satellite technician or in a similar role.
   • Strong knowledge of RF and electronic measurement instruments, along with proficiency in using hand and power tools.
5.  Certifications:
   • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
   • National Certifications: BA4 / BA5, Working at Heights (Kester).
   • Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+.
6. Skills:
   • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
