We are currently looking for a talented Senior SharePoint Developer on behalf of a major European Union Agency.
Location: Malta
Mode: Hybrid (75% on-site and 25% off-site, can be modified as preferred by the candidate. The first 5 consecutive days should be onsite.)

Job overview:
The agency is seeking a Senior SharePoint Developer to work as a contractor, contributing to the design, development, migration, testing and maintenance of the Electronic Records and Documentation Management System (ERDMS) and the Agency’s Intranet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security and governance of the Agency’s SharePoint environment and its related artefacts. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with the project team on the analysis and design of new features and functionalities of the products.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in design sessions with project staff.
- Develop and optimize business processes to support business applications.
- Review and refine design artefacts and code, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Design and develop new applications, enhance existing systems, or integrate third-party solutions.
- Work with technical and functional teams to ensure effective delivery of systems.
- Apply software development methodologies and standards as defined by organization to ensure high-quality coding and system implementation.
- Follow established processes for configuration and release management to ensure that all project artefacts are managed, integrated, and versioned according to standards.
Key tasks and activities:
1) ERDMS and Intranet SharePoint implementations:
- Administer, configure, support and maintain ERDMS and Intranet SharePoint Online, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Manage ERDMS components, including source code, architecture, design patterns, database schemas, and backend configuration.
- Upgrade and optimize systems structures based on business requirements.
- Deploy and support new architectures as required.
- Maintain and align environments.
- Implement and manage security mechanisms in SharePoint Online/on Prem based on stakeholder requirements.
- Assist in testing procedures and provide expertise during new releases.
- Contribute to proactive system maintenance, including security audits, monitoring and updates installation.
2) Cross-cutting activities:
- Generate reports to analyze usage, identify missing metadata, usage of best practices and assess storage utilization.
- Collaborate with governance and oversight groups to align with corporate strategy.
- Produce and maintain technical and system documentation.
- Implement and refine User Interface (UI) design in collaboration with business teams.
- Ensure UI compliance with usability, functional, and client guidelines and standards.
- Provide training and act as a “point of contact” for SP Online questions and requests.
- Provide expertise and guidance in streamlining processes and applications.
- Deliver governance policies for SharePoint applications.
- Participate, collaborate and lead in Business Continuity initiatives.
Requirements:
- High quality level in SharePoint development and administration.
- Apply high level standards in ASP.NET C#, Node.JS and PowerShell, in SPFx webparts and SharePoint APIs.
- Work with Front-end JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue.JS, Angular, Power Automate and Power App Forms.
- SharePoint architecture and governance policies.
- Strong problem-solving handling, collaboration and efficiently communicate clearly in a way that the receiver effectively understands the message.
- Apply enterprise-level SharePoint solutions.
- SharePoint retention and sensitivity labels.
- Practical handling of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for SharePoint applications.
