We are seeking a Senior IT Specialist with proven experience in VMware infrastructure, storage systems, and backup solutions to support EUAA’s infrastructure project in Malta.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform periodic upgrades of VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager).

• Monitor system performance post-implementation.

• Maintain and monitor backup policies and jobs.

• Assist in Disaster Recovery planning (RTO/RPO).

• Support workload migration across EU datacentres.

• Provision virtual machines and storage.

• Automate processes via scripting.

• Maintain and upgrade Dell and NetApp storage infrastructure.

• Monitor storage array performance.

• Maintain and upgrade fibre channel network infrastructure.

Operational Duties

• Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

• Perform regular maintenance on IT infrastructure.

• Configure systems for optimal performance.

• Maintain accurate configuration documentation.

• Conduct diagnostics and communicate with end users.

• Apply approved software patches for security and performance.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Extensive experience with VMware vCenter, ESXi, and vRealize.

• Hands-on experience with SAN storage systems (NetApp and/or Dell EMC).

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Familiarity with Veeam and Keepit (preferred).

• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Knowledge of scripting languages.

• Understanding of network topologies and cabling standards.

• Experience in server management and virtualization technologies.

• ITIL/ITIL V4 awareness.

• Strong documentation and communication skills.

• Experience in international, multicultural team environments.
