We are currently seeking a talented Technology Specialist (SharePoint) on behalf of a major EU Agency.

 

 

Location: Malta, Valletta

Seniority: Senior (10 years of experience in the requested field)

 

Working model: hybrid (mostly remote) (90% off-site, 10% on-site)

Estimated duration: 90 days (81 days off-site, 9 days on-site)

 

Education level: EQF level 5 (this is mandatory to be met, with available proof before the offer)

Salary range: freelancers with 250 – 280 euros daily rate

 

 

Job Profile

We are seeking an experienced Technology Specialist (SharePoint) with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in designing, deploying, administering, and supporting enterprise Microsoft SharePoint environments. The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise in SharePoint farm architecture, automation, infrastructure management, and operational excellence across large-scale enterprise environments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute deployments of new Microsoft SharePoint farm versions and environments, ensuring minimal service disruption and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated patching processes for SharePoint farms, incorporating Microsoft zero-downtime patching principles and industry best practices.
  • Implement, configure, and operationalise Microsoft SharePoint On-Demand Assessments to proactively identify risks, improve platform health, and optimise operational performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SharePoint infrastructure, platform, and application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective actions.
  • Monitor SharePoint environments to ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and operational stability.
  • Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, service owners, infrastructure teams, and application support teams to deliver SharePoint solutions and operational improvements.
  • Support platform lifecycle management, including upgrades, migrations, patch management, and environment optimisation.
  • Ensure SharePoint environments comply with organisational security, governance, and operational standards.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education level: EQF level 5 (this is mandatory to be met, with available proof before the offer)
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise Microsoft SharePoint environments.
  • Extensive experience deploying, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining SharePoint Server farms.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, topology design, service applications, and farm administration.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing automated SharePoint patching processes and Microsoft zero-downtime patching methodologies.
  • Experience implementing and interpreting Microsoft SharePoint On-Demand Assessments and applying recommendations to improve platform health.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across SharePoint infrastructure, web applications, authentication, search, service applications, and performance issues.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for SharePoint administration.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server, networking, and related infrastructure technologies supporting SharePoint.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SharePoint hybrid deployments and Microsoft 365 integration.
  • Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud services, including SharePoint Online, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with monitoring, health assessment, and enterprise operations management tools.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications in SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure, or related technologies.
