Frontex is looking for a Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical security initiatives at enterprise scale. This role sits at the intersection of project leadership and deep cybersecurity domain knowledge — you’ll be trusted to steer complex, often high-stakes projects from initiation through closure, while navigating the regulatory and governance demands of an EU institutional environment.

You’ll work closely with the Project Board, technical teams, and executive stakeholders to keep projects on track, on budget, and aligned with Frontex’s security posture. If you’re equally comfortable chairing a steering committee and discussing Zero Trust architecture with engineers, this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do

• Drive delivery. Manage cybersecurity projects across their full lifecycle, ensuring they land on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
• Build the framework. Establish and manage project controls, milestone tracking, and delivery processes.
• Stay ahead of risk. Identify, track, and communicate project risks, issues, and scope changes before they become problems.
• Engage stakeholders. Liaise with the Project Board and key stakeholders, keeping them informed and aligned.
• Lead the team. Assign tasks, balance priorities, and keep project team members motivated and focused.
• Keep it documented. Produce project management artefacts — plans, logs, schedules, and responsibility matrices — that actually get used.
• Communicate upward and outward. Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to both technical and executive audiences.
• Keep meetings moving. Organise and chair project meetings that drive decisions, not just discussion.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Education

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 8+ years managing cybersecurity projects.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, risk management, defence-in-depth, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Proficiency with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, or equivalent).
• In-depth understanding of the legal and ethical dimensions of cybersecurity.
• Experience managing cybersecurity projects in EU classified or similarly regulated environments.

Project Management Skills

• Advanced project management capability: risk, quality, vendor, and procurement management.
• Outstanding stakeholder communication and negotiation skills — written and verbal, for both technical and executive audiences.
• Hands-on experience with project tools and methodologies: PM2, PRINCE2, PMP, ServiceNow.

Certifications (at least 4 required, spanning both domains)

Cybersecurity — at least 2 of:

• CISSP (or equivalent)
• CISA (or equivalent)
• CISM (or equivalent)
• ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Associate (or equivalent)

Project & IT Service Management — at least 2 of:

• PM2 Advanced (or equivalent)
• PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent)
• PMP (or equivalent)
• ITIL Foundation (or equivalent)

Language

• English, minimum B2 level (certified).

Nice to Have

• Broad architectural background with full-lifecycle experience delivering IT security solutions.
• Experience managing resources, budgets, and priorities across a portfolio of cybersecurity investments.
• Familiarity with EU institutional procurement and governance processes.
