Frontex is looking for a Software Factory Architect to shape the technical backbone of our software engineering organisation. This is a high-impact, enterprise-level role for an experienced architect who thrives on setting direction, influencing without formal authority, and turning architectural vision into practical, adopted standards across multiple engineering teams.
You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy and hands-on engineering — trusted to define how we build software, not just what we build. If you enjoy mentoring senior engineers, designing systems that scale, and being the person teams turn to when a solution needs to work today and hold up in five years, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do
- Advise and guide. Act as a trusted technical advisor across software engineering teams, helping them make sound architectural decisions.
- Shape how we build. Design and continuously evolve the software development lifecycle and engineering processes.
- Architect at scale. Review, recommend, and validate end-to-end solution architectures for complex, cross-team projects.
- Set the standard. Define architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices that teams can actually use.
- Own the vision. Drive and evolve the engineering vision for the entire software factory.
- Keep it coherent. Ensure architectural consistency and alignment across the enterprise, so systems interoperate rather than diverge.
- Mentor and elevate. Provide hands-on consultation and mentoring to senior engineers and technical leads, raising the bar across the organisation.
