We are currently seeking a talented Software Engineer to join an international, fully remote team supporting the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA). This role involves the design, development, and maintenance of modern, scalable software solutions within a multi-tier architecture, contributing to impactful European-level projects.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend applications
• Implement and integrate technological components across systems
• Translate user requirements into technical solutions
• Develop prototypes and contribute to system architecture decisions
• Write and execute test programs to ensure software quality
• Integrate applications with external systems and services
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Support system deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies and project meetings

🧑‍💻 Technical Requirements

Backend

• Strong experience with Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI
• Experience with RDFLib for semantic data handling
• Familiarity with asynchronous task processing using Celery

Frontend

• Solid experience with React and TypeScript

Database

• Experience with Graph Database technologies

Cloud & Services

• Knowledge of Azure ecosystem, including:
  • Azure AD & SRMO for authentication/authorization
  • Azure Email Services

📚 Additional Requirements

• Strong understanding of web and multi-tier application design
• Experience with software modeling tools (e.g. UML)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) or RUP
• Good knowledge of relational databases
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multilingual environments
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
