We are currently seeking a Junior Python Developer on behalf of one of our major clients in the banking sector.

 

Location: Athens

Mode of working: hybrid

Seniority: Junior (2+ years of relevant experience)

 

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Python Developer with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our development team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and work alongside experienced engineers. Experience in the banking or financial services sector is a plus, but not required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of Python applications
  • Write clean, readable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior developers
  • Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, product, and design
  • Contribute to API development and system integrations
  • Work with databases and assist in data modeling tasks
  • Follow coding standards, documentation practices, and development workflows
  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve technical skills

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Python
  • Basic knowledge of Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, or FastAPI)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and best practices

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to banking, fintech, or financial services projects
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Awareness of security and data protection best practices
