We are looking for a Data Governance Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team and help implement and automate Data Governance capabilities across our GCP environment.

The role combines Data Engineering, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Privacy, and Governance, working closely with Data Governance, D&A, CDI, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and automate Data Governance controls across GCP, covering metadata, lineage, data quality, privacy, access, and compliance.

• Integrate Looker and Collibra to improve KPI, report, metadata, and lineage discoverability.

• Develop automated metadata harvesting and lineage processes from source systems, ETL/ELT pipelines, and reporting platforms.

• Support the design and implementation of Data Quality rules, monitoring, and reconciliation dashboards.

• Support metadata collection and validation from Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians, including reverse engineering of legacy systems where required.

• Support GDPR, PII, anonymization, deanonymization, and data retention controls.

• Contribute to Data Marketplace governance and automate activities such as onboarding, approvals, ownership changes, archival, and report expiration.

• Work closely with Data Governance, Data Engineering, D&A, and CDI teams to continuously improve governance processes and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.

• Professional experience 2+ years in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Management, or a similar technical role.

• Hands-on experience with GCP and strong knowledge of SQL and data engineering concepts.

• Experience with Python, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, APIs, and automation.

• Understanding of metadata, data lineage, data quality, data privacy, and access management.

• Experience with Collibra and/or Looker is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of BigQuery and modern cloud data architectures is a strong advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
