We are looking for a Lead Data Analyst to drive complex data analysis and deliver actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead complex data analysis and research to identify innovative approaches and solutions.
• Oversee the design and development of new reporting, visualisation, and analytics applications that transform raw data into valuable business information.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all delivered solutions.
• Identify and recommend solutions for data and process gaps that impact business requirements.
• Effectively communicate complex approaches, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Lead, coach, and mentor junior and mid-level data analysts in their daily responsibilities.
• Partner with business and technology teams to define testing requirements, procedures, and corrective actions to ensure high-quality data products.
• Establish and promote open data standards, metadata management policies, and data classification frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and prototypes to uncover observations, trends, and patterns; present findings to leadership for evaluation of potential business solutions.
• Design and implement advanced statistical models and algorithms for complex reporting and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure adherence to data standards and best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Define testing requirements, procedures, and corrective actions to maintain data quality.
• Ensure full compliance with open data standards, metadata policies, and data classification rules.
• Adhere to all data security policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain data tools and analytical assets to support data analysts and data scientists.
• Build analytical tools and dashboards that deliver actionable insights into key business KPIs.
• Partner with data engineers to optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, and timely data delivery.

Functional Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of modern data and analytics architectures (data lakes, warehouses, data marts, reporting layers, etc.).
• Strong experience with data visualisation, analytics, and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct independent research and develop clear observations and recommendations.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills; able to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to provide clear direction, coaching, and leadership to data analyst teams.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and the role of testing within the software development lifecycle.

Technical Competencies

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a data science or advanced analytics environment.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Deep, hands-on experience with database technologies, including:
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• In-memory databases (SAP HANA, Hazelcast, etc.)
• Traditional RDBMS (Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle)
• NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong background in SQL, database systems, and/or data science.
