We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team and support mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, administration, optimization, security, and maintenance of enterprise database platforms and related applications in a high-availability environment.

This role requires strong expertise in relational database systems, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database security, along with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain database platforms and related applications.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and usage; perform tuning and optimization activities to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical support for database environments, including database organization, maintenance, and application performance monitoring.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Conduct technical studies and impact analyses for proposed system changes and recommend database or application server adaptations.
• Troubleshoot database issues, incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure database security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes are properly implemented.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors regarding incidents, product issues, and technical improvements.
• Support database migration, upgrade, and patching activities where required.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with RDBMS administration.
• Strong expertise in: Oracle Database, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts, architecture, and data modeling.
• Experience with database administration, tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, and security management.
• Good understanding of database performance optimization and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with Active Directory in relation to database security and Windows scripting is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience in enterprise or public-sector environments.
• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting tools.
• Experience with cloud-based database environments is a plus.
