We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Software Engineer in Test to join our technology team supporting one of the region’s largest telecommunications companies.

This is a unique hybrid role that combines deep Quality Assurance expertise with hands-on software development. You will lead QA initiatives, design robust testing strategies, and build internal tools and microservices that significantly improve development and testing efficiency across complex telecom systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA and development initiatives across core telecommunications systems and internal platforms
• Design and implement comprehensive end-to-end testing strategies (UI, API, and full E2E)
• Develop integration microservices using Java Spring Boot between Jira and internal systems
• Design, develop, and maintain internal tools (backend + frontend) to optimise QA and development workflows
• Act as Dev Lead and Project Manager for internal tools — owning architecture, delivery, and stakeholder coordination
• Maintain and evolve test automation frameworks and CI/CD infrastructure (Jenkins pipelines)
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to multiple QA teams
• Perform technical administration of Redmine (UAT tool), including performance tuning and SSO integration
• Lead the technical implementation of Sigrid integration (automated code quality analysis solution)
• Drive AI adoption in development and testing (GitHub Copilot, Claude, OpenAI, RAG)

• Automation: Playwright (TypeScript) — primary, Selenium Java + Serenity (legacy)
• DevOps: Jenkins, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Git
• Cloud: Azure (SSO, Managed Identity, Blob Storage, AI Services)
• AI Tools: GitHub Copilot, Claude, OpenAI, RAG
• Integration: Kafka, REST APIs
• Test Management: Azure DevOps

Key Projects You Will Work On

Built from Scratch:

• Tests Dashboard – Centralised test monitoring tool (React + Express)
• mAIData – AI-powered test data generation & distribution platform (React + Express)
• Jira / MyProjects Integration Microservice (Spring Boot)

Dev Lead / PM Role:

• Test Gen AI – AI-generated test plans and test cases (Spring Boot + Django + React)
• T-Dimensions (PoC) – Internal collaboration platform (Plane-based)

Testing Scope:

• Core telecom systems and platforms
• Backend microservices & integrations
• Complex end-to-end business flows
• Regression suites (UI + API)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering + Software Development
• Strong full-stack development skills (especially Java Spring Boot and React)
• Solid experience with modern test automation (Playwright strongly preferred)
• Proven track record in building internal tools and leading technical initiatives
• Experience with Azure Cloud and CI/CD practices is a big plus
• Previous exposure to telecommunications or large-scale systems is highly valued
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
