We are seeking an experienced Network Automation & IP Address Management (IPAM) Engineer to join an international team supporting mission-critical network infrastructure in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium (on-site role).

The successful candidate will contribute to the management, automation, and governance of enterprise network addressing, DNS services, and configuration data while supporting complex multinational operations. This role requires strong networking expertise, automation skills, and the ability to work in a secure, highly regulated environment.

Please note: A valid NATO Security Clearance is mandatory for this position.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure service requests and incidents are resolved in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain the quality, integrity, and consistency of network configuration and addressing data.
  • Register, maintain, and publish enterprise names, IP addresses, DNS records, and metadata required for the operation and management of networks.
  • Assign and manage IPv4 and IPv6 address space according to infrastructure requirements.
  • Support project teams with the integration of network configuration items into IPAM repositories.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python to improve network management processes.
  • Automate network configuration data and telemetry collection across business and partner network environments.
  • Evaluate, process, and implement network change requests.
  • Audit network device configurations against approved baselines and standards.
  • Support troubleshooting activities related to DNS, IP addressing, routing, and network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to ensure accurate network documentation and configuration management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of network automation and operational processes.

Description of Tasks

  • Administer enterprise IP Address Management (IPAM) and DNS repositories.
  • Automate routine network administration tasks using Python and other scripting technologies.
  • Maintain accurate network addressing plans and naming conventions.
  • Collect, validate, and publish network metadata supporting enterprise infrastructure.
  • Monitor and improve data quality within configuration management repositories.
  • Support network deployments, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation related to network configurations and operational procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex networking issues involving routing, addressing, and name resolution.
  • Support network telemetry collection, reporting, and automation initiatives.
  • Work closely with multinational technical teams in support of operational and project activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience after graduation.
  • At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Network Engineering
    • Software Development
    • Network Automation
    • IP Address Management (IPAM)
    • DNS/DDI Administration
  • Practical experience with Python programming and network automation.
  • Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and address planning.
  • Hands-on experience with DNS administration and routing protocols including OSPF, RIP, IS-IS, and BGP.
  • Experience processing infrastructure change requests and configuration management activities.
  • Experience auditing network device configurations against approved baselines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multinational technical teams.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience managing IP addressing within military or defence environments.
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration and networking.
  • Experience with Cloud Networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of VPNs, GRE tunnels, IPSec, encapsulation technologies, and military encryption standards.
  • Knowledge of NCIA service request and change management processes.
  • Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, Firewalls, MPLS, and Multicast networking.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, Cisco DevNet, JNCIA, or equivalent experience.
