We are currently seeking a talented Senior IT Project Manager on behalf of a major International Organisation.

Working model: remote

Duration: 18 months with possibility of further extensions

Salary range: 290 – 310 euros daily rate, as a freelancer

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

Project Management: Develop and manage all aspects of project and engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues. Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources. Chair the project management team meetings.

Procure and secure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes. Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, and communicating across leadership.
Business and Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders and internal business sponsor and focal points across the Organization globally and providing them with updates. Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address the Organization’s goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsor, CIO, and key stakeholders. Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communications.

Change Management: Work with the designated Change Manager to ensure change management is integrated with project management timelines and activities. Ensure changes across multiple and simultaneous work streams are synchronized.  

Team Management including Performance: Set and continually manage project expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.  Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team. Monitor the performance of project team members.

Vendor Management: Actively manage the engagement contract(s) with vendors. Lead and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders. Define the Statement of Work and specifications for the requested goods and services. Actively and proactively manage the work and deliverables of the vendors; i.e. challenging their work estimates, reviewing their deliverables, monitoring the work of resources on-site, near-shore, offshore. Conduct regular meetings and progress reviews with the vendors and removing bottlenecks to delivery. Assist in dispute, negotiation, or arbitration as needed.

Quality Control and Assurance: Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution. Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills in international and multi-cultural settings at the global and regional level.
• Proven knowledge and experience of managing multiple large-scale Salesforce projects for various international organizations.
• Proven ability to coordinate, manage, lead and successfully deliver IT-business projects across geographical locations and organizational departments under intense pressure and complex unplanned situations.
• Proven understanding of DevOps and Release Management best practices.
• Proven ability to successfully interact and simultaneously manage senior stakeholders across multiple workstreams, at all levels, especially at the executive management level.
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking with the ability to quickly comprehend strategic and tactical objectives and to formulate comprehensive plans to address challenges/risks.
• Strong understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
• Proven success in providing leadership for project team, by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
• Extensive understanding of project management principles, methods and techniques.
• Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multi-tasking role, synthesizing information quickly, managing priorities, delivering with quality, and working to challenging timescales. Strong ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
• Excellent communication (both oral and written), problem solving and analytical skills
• Proactive, flexible, resourceful and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Proven ability to promote the use and adherence of methodologies, processes, and standards across the Organization.
• Proven excellence in planning, co-ordination and organization.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• First-level university degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Professional qualification or certification in project management methodologies such as PMI, Prince 2, Agile SCRUM.
  

Desirable

• Salesforce certifications are desirable but not mandatory:

1. Salesforce Certified Administrator
2. Salesforce Certified Business Analyst
3. Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant
4. Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
5. Salesforce Certified Agentforce Service Consultant

• Certification on Lean, Six Sigma, or ITIL v4
• Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) and/or Prosci Change Management, and/or Certification (ADKAR Model)

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• At least 7 years of professional experience in the management of Salesforce architecture and product leadership, including experience in the area of digital transformation strategies and enterprise systems. Demonstrated experience managing human and financial resources. Demonstrated exposure at the international level.
• Proven experience in executive level stakeholder management.
• Experience in collaborating with teams (physically or virtually) in an international and multi-cultural environment whilst producing results
• Proven experience in writing project plans and project-related documentation.
• Experience with Change Management
• Experience in facilitating workshops, presentations to senior stakeholders and managing change in a federated (decentralized) organization

Desirable

• Experience in leading Salesforce architecture and product strategies within the WHO or UN system, including collaboration with global health initiatives and international stakeholders.
• Fieldwork in developing countries or multi-country program management in digital health solutions are highly advantageous.
• Extensive experience in working across multiple time zones without the need for face-to-face meetings.
• Experience with UN or other international or multinational organizations.
• Experience with professional business services such as consulting.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Expert knowledge in spoken and written English.
• Basic knowledge in French is desirable, but not mandatory.
